In the midst of peak Airbnb season, one of our veteran Ninjas, Sahil, broke the record for most jobs completed in a day! Sahil is one of KeyNinja’s very first Ninja riders who’s been at the forefront of 24/7 key exchanges and guests’ check-ins for almost 2 years now.
Today, he’s shared with us some thoughts on what it takes to be a Ninja.
1) What gets you out of bed in the morning?
I am a travel enthusiast and love meeting new people, this job connects me with people from all around the world and gives me an opportunity to help them which is enough motivation for me to get started every morning.
2) How would you describe your job to a child?
My job is to help people getting their temporary home keys in a city which is unknown to them, making sure the people are happy and feel comfortable.
3) What does a typical day as a Ninja looks like?
A typical Ninja day is to ensure Guest check-in and outs are as stress-free as possible. The day starts with team leader assigning jobs the night before to ensure we are all set for the next day. The KeyNinja Rider app has all the important information at your fingertips and helps Ninjas move quickly from one job to the next. The icing on the cake is the amazing 24/7 Customer support working hard to keep both Guests and Ninjas updated throughout the day.
4) How do you face your biggest challenges?
With the team we have, there is no such thing called the biggest challenge. Nothing is difficult when there is good teamwork and communication. From late-arriving Guests to cranky Guests, a big smile is all they need.
5) What was the most memorable KeyNinja moment?
There are always new adventures in store for Ninjas! Recently, I had a very special moment when I broke the record for most jobs completed in a day. The feeling of helping people and looking at their happy faces kept me going without even realising that I was setting a new record!
6) What inspires you?
Learning something new every day and meeting new people from different parts of the world inspires me.
Don’t limit your challenges, challenge your limits.
7) How do you stay motivated?
The flexibility of working hours, our super friendly team and some cheerful guests keep me motivated. One more reason is the multicultural aspect of the team which adds a certain diversity and freshness to the working environment.
8) Any advice you would give to the new ninja recruits?
If you are looking for a workplace where you are not just an employee but a family, Keyninja is the place to be. All you need is a big smile and punctuality to keep going.
